BASE wanted its founder-facing point of view to feel different from venture-capital convention. Rob led a direct, people-centered brand whose voice, imagery, and motion made that difference tangible.

Show the relationship behind the position

BASE's way of working with founders differed from familiar venture-capital codes. A provocative line alone could announce that difference, but it would not help a founder understand the people or relationship behind it.

Let contrast clarify the offer

Rob chose human imagery, vivid typography, direct writing, and movement to make BASE's perspective visible. Boldness had a job: communicate a relationship and a way of seeing, rather than perform rebellion for its own sake.

/03

Carry the voice into use

The system moved through editorial content, founder stories, motion, and the website. A prospective founder could meet the same point of view across formats without every piece repeating the same line.

/04

Close on a visible perspective

The delivered system gave BASE a flexible public language for its founder relationships.
